Ken Mulford
Ken Mulford, CFA® Chief Financial Officer and Chief Risk Officer, has more than 36 years’ experience in financial services, bridging securitized products, investment banking and residential mortgage originations, servicing, and capital markets. Ken has structured MBS and run mortgage finance and securitizations. His experience heading capital markets for both a subprime originator and an FHA/VA/USDA originator give him direct risk management and deep operational exposure to the residential mortgage originations and servicing business.
From 2018 to 2022, Ken was the CEO of Rebar Capital, a real estate and mortgage oriented private investment firm focused on residential opportunities, including land acquisition and development, mergers and acquisitions advisory, and principal investments. Previously, Ken was EVP and Head of Capital Markets at Sun West Mortgage Company, an FHA/VA/USDA mortgage originator, where he managed both third party and retail mortgage originations, compliance, and operations. His investment banking experience includes stints at Merrill Lynch, Salomon Smith Barney, JP Morgan, and UBS. Ken also ran capital markets at Ameriquest Mortgage, a California based subprime mortgage originator that was ultimately sold to CitiMortgage.
Ken earned his master’s degree in philosophy from Columbia University and his bachelor’s degree in political science at the College of Wooster in Wooster, Ohio. Four years ago, Ken and his wife Sunny formed Epic-Cure, an all volunteer non-profit focused on food security and eliminating food waste. He lives in St. Augustine, Florida, with his wife and son
