Steve Palmer

Chief Investment Officer and Portfolio Manager, has spent the last 30 years on Wall Street in various roles. His focus has been almost entirely in the MBS space, encompassing many aspects including Agency/Non-Agency CMO, Derivatives, mortgage loans and mortgage related ABS.

Over the course of Steve’s career, his responsibilities progressed from cash flow creation, analysis and arbitrage to creative cross product opportunities and trading strategies. Having witnessed three major crises in the MBS universe, he has observed the behavior of the markets in various degrees of distress and developed a pro-active, forward thinking approach to securities investing.

He spent the early part of his career in Asia working for Chemical Bank Securities, integrating the domestic capabilities of the Mortgage Department with the Asian client base. He also spent several years at JPMorgan, where he traded Non-Agency CMOs through the 2008 financial crisis. He also built out the Trading and Risk platforms as the Head of Mortgage Trading at BNY Mellon post crisis.

Steve is a 1992 graduate of The Wharton Undergraduate School of Business, holding a B.S. in Economics/Finance.
